Save Time, Not Money

Good morning!

Many, many years ago I posted a question on a Buyer’s LinkedIn group page: “Why don’t you people return voice mails?” There were numerous responses (all lame, whiny non-reasons) but one stuck out with me. It read, “Bill I get 50-60 voice mails a day. If I returned every call and gave everyone, say, 5 minutes, that’s 5-6 hours a day of phone conversations. So, what I do is to listen to the first few seconds. If the caller says anything about saving me money, I hit ‘Delete.’ The only calls I listen to are the ones where someone promises to save me time. That is what I value the most.”

Interesting, huh?

Saving time is more important that saving money? That’s a debatable but interesting comment, one you can build on to fashion a powerful voicemail message. Anyone can promise savings. But only the very best can deliver on a promise to save time.

Do you have Amazon-level communication skills?

Each of these is a great selling point. Time is indeed a valuable resource. And it makes for a great voicemail message, too.
