Sales Is a Sport. Train Like It.

There are the natural-born sales reps and then there are the rest of us. You can beat the schmoozers by following Bill Farquharson's advice in this week's blog. (1 min read)

Lady Gaga said it best (sort of): “Baby, I was born this way.”

But in sales? Natural talent will only get you so far.

Elite reps train. Practice. Hustle.

And outlearn the competition:

• Education: The best reps are lifelong students. They read books, listen to podcasts, and always ask, “What are you reading?”
• Experience: You can’t skip the School of Hard Knocks. Mistakes aren’t failures, they’re tuition.
• Hustle: Effort beats talent when talent doesn’t hustle. Outwork them. Out-call them. One more.

Always one more.

Remember Larry Bird? Not the most athletic guy on the court, but he owned it through effort, smarts, and of course, trash talk.

Out-sell by out-working.

That’s your blueprint.
