Like most of us, I have a love/hate relationship with exercise.
I procrastinate. I am streaky with my participation.
I’m human.
My all-time favorite exercise practice was Pilates. I called it strength-stretching and while no one gets ripped, the results are nonetheless evident: You don’t pull a muscle because you are limber. You don’t hurt your back because you have core strength.
You can’t see Pilates working for you, but it does.
Just like marketing.
Why did that new client choose you? Was it your charm? Yes. Was it your persistency? Sure. But was it also the fact that the client liked your LinkedIn post or that case study video on your website? Yes to that, too.
Very rarely will you be able to connect the dots between your marketing efforts and your sales success. But I guarantee the lack of marketing is a huge reason why your prospecting efforts fall flat. People will check you out and if there is nothing for them to see, they will pass you over.
Marketing is the new sales.
