Good morning!
This is the second sales tip in an August series designed to get you ready for most important selling months of the year. If you missed the first one…well, now you are behind.
This week, let’s talk about exactly what you will do from September 1 until the end of November. What is your plan…or perhaps more accurately, what are your plans?
- You’ve got your book of business.
- There are new accounts to be opened.
- Then’s there’s Big Fish.
- Looking beyond selling, there is general sales knowledge like improving skills and learning more about AI and social media.
Each of these categories needs structure, activity goals, and a process. There should be a mix of activities and the common denominator is urgency. That is, whatever combo platter of selling actions you create, remember this is a sprint, not a marathon, so while I think you should set reasonable and achievable goals, make active selling the priority.
This week, your homework is to think about and create an action plan to be enacted September 1. Second, create weekly activity goals and a step-by-step process for each.
August can be a quiet month. Use this time to get ready so you can sprint to the finish of 2026 and come shooting out of the gates in Q1 of 2027.
Next week, I will talk about lead-gen. Your homework is to get planning those campaigns.
