Good morning!
We are entering a unique time of year, but not for the reasons you might think.
Yes, this week is about giving thanks and the beginning of the season of family, Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanza… even Festivus.
As sales people, it is the perfect time for us to enter into Learning Mode.
Take a look at this week, for example. Here in the States, as Monday turns into Tuesday and Tuesday becomes Wednesday, the phone gets quieter and quieter. There are several things you can do with the additional time.
Selling, of course, is primary.
But you could also learn more about the nuances and additional features of you CRM. Or perhaps watch a video on curating a LinkedIn profile that makes people feel like they’ve met you.
Whatever you might need in order to do your job better, this is the time.
After this week, there are four full weeks until Christmas. Learning Mode can extend into this time frame as well. You could make sales education a priority or perhaps create some marketing tools like white papers (wait, you don’t know about the lead-gen value of a white paper? Hmmmmm, if only there were a device to help you) or collect testimonials or perhaps create a success story in the form of a YouTube video.
Whatever.
The point is, now’s the time.
When things are crazy busy, we don’t have the time to do anything but keep our head above water. This is an opportunity to organize. This is a chance to weed out inefficiencies. This is a unique period of time to sharpen the saw.
Use it.
On another note, I want to express my sincere gratitude to you all. I have put out weekly sales tips for twenty years, but never have I had as much feedback as I did in 2022. As those of you who have emailed me with commentary, I respond to every message. Keep them coming.
I am grateful to have a chance to share some thoughts on Sales. Thank you for reading and watching. Changes—significant changes—are coming in the days and weeks ahead. The tips will be distributed exclusively through LinkedIn, for example, so please connect or follow me and subscribe. And part of my own Learning Mode is to learn more from you in order to better serve those needs.
Stay tuned.
With much gratitude…
