Am I the only one who finds the “I can get a cheaper online” objection to be annoying?
To be clear, someone who loves these 6 words your way is not your customer.
Believe it.
Embrace it.
Turn your back on this quiet and walk away.
You’re looking for people who want a relationship. You are looking for people who buy your ideas. Not only do you understand you are not the cheapest price, you readily admit it.
Here’s your counter:
“Yes, you can buy it online. Yes, it is probably cheaper. And if everything goes right—if you receive a quality product in time to meet your need—you’ve saved money. Well done. I am looking to work with people who need my help finding the right solution, not just a cheaper one. If that ever becomes you, look me up.”
Know this: There is always a cheaper price out there. ALWAYS. You will not win this argument, so don’t even bother. Instead, look for clients who appreciate the value you bring and are willing to pay for it.
