I checked in on a former Sales Vault member a couple weeks ago. He had been let go by his company and figured he might need a supportive call.
Over the course of the conversation, I remembered a client of mine who was looking for salespeople and made the connection. Hopefully, it will work out for the both of them.
I sent an email to the company which was hiring and explained the situation. I confessed that I did not know the sales rep very well but listed what I knew of his background and felt he might be a good fit.
Closing, I threw in the one thing I was certain of: He has a good attitude. The response I received was telling: “I hire good attitudes.”
Experience is earned.
Skills are taught.
Personality is predisposed.
Attitude is a choice.
Hire the attitude.
