Good morning!
I’m recording this on a Monday morning following a weekend of exceptional productivity.
How was that accomplished?
First, I started planning my weekend on Wednesday of last week. With rain in the forecast, I knew I’d be indoors and began planning around it. There’s your first lesson: anticipate.
Waking up Saturday morning, I had a task list for business and personal. Circled on those lists were my priorities; my have-to’s. There’s your second lesson: prepare.
On both weekend days, I did my high energy, high focus, high creativity activities first when I was freshest. The rest of the time I gravitated towards the answer to my frequently asked question, “what’s the best use of my time right now?” That’s your third and fourth lessons: Execute and prioritize on the fly.
Finally, when each day was over I took a look at the tasks that did not get done and challenged myself to justify them. Do I really need to do them. Then, I set myself up for the next day.
Are you seeking better productivity? Anticipate, prepare, prioritize, execute, then prepare again.
