I was looking over the details of my calendar between now and the end of the year and was astonished to learn there are only nine weeks left in 2022.
Nine weeks… And two of those weeks are filled with work-stopping holidays.
Today being the last day of October— and happy Halloween, by the way— you’d be wise to map out a plan. This is your last chance to finish the year strong and launch 2023’s sales success.
Here’s my plan:
For the next three weeks, my sales pedal will be pushed all the way to the floor. Above and beyond what I am already doing, I’m going to make two extra sales calls every day. In addition, I’m going to be making a list of the “important but not urgent” tasks that I never get around to so that…
For the week that includes Thanksgiving, I can use that time wisely and “sharpen the saw.” I might learn more about LinkedIn and how to use it effectively. I could shoot a few more sales tips both for my Monday Short Attention Span Sales videos and the special LinkedIn tips I’ve been posting the last few weeks (did you know about those?). The point is, this is a great week to get non-selling action items done so that…
For the final four full weeks that lead up to Christmas, I can combine my time selling, pushing out marketing content, and coming up with a plan for the new year.
One thing I will not be doing is making the assumption that no one wants to hear from me around the holidays. To the contrary. Everyone is looking ahead and trying to grow. I have something which will help and I’m not going to let a killer assumption stop me.
So, go out tonight with your kids and get some candy. But look ahead to the next nine weeks, formulate a plan, and be ready to launch into action starting tomorrow.
