There is a national paper shortage and everyone is struggling. Well, maybe not everyone…
The owner of one print company I spoke to says she is getting preferential treatment of sorts when it comes to paper supply.
How? Why her company?
When I posed that question she shrugged and said, “I treat them better than I treat customers.”
That’s crazy talk! Aren’t we supposed to put the customer first?
As I dug deeper into her answers, one thing I learned was how she pays invoices received from her paper vendors immediately. This, she correctly believes, is the best way to say, “Thank you,” to her suppliers.
It also makes her a favorite client of those vendors and that can come in handy when there is a shortage.
Like now.
Look, it’s a little thing, but a good vendor is as important as a good customer. And while you want those clients happy, they can only be that way when there is paper on the floor.
Say thank you to your vendors by paying their bills promptly.
