Monday started with coffee like it always does. Part wake up; part catch up; part management meeting, Allison making some tweaks to our websites while I sit reading my newspapers.
Wall Street Journal: Ugh. Those Russians…bird flocks are an issue for airplanes again…Interest rates going up, huh? Hmmmm….you know, that means anyone selling cars or houses or boats really needs to get a mailing out to—-NO! STOP! It’s 5:30am. Just sit and enjoy some quiet, Bill!
Boston Globe: Jennifer Garner is a good sport. Looks like she had fun accepting the Hasty Pudding Award from those Harvard kids…I wonder if anyone is watching the Olympics…Wow, John Williams is about to turn 90…Oh, look. A full page add for a cross country skiing event up in Stowe, VT. Scrolling down I see a list of a dozen sponsors. Maybe I should send this up to my friend Matt Noonan so he can follow up. Too late for this year, but…UGH! STOP! Oh, I give up!
I simply cannot stop thinking about prospects. The mail comes and I think about each piece as I go through it. I see a bill board. I drive by a bank and look at the window clings. POP signage at a gas station.
I wonder if it will always be like this. I wonder if my brother, a retired label salesman, thinks in these same terms when Marge sends him to the grocery store. Who am I kidding? Of course he does. He’s a Farquharson.
I am writing this blog on Monday Feb. 7. In two days, Allison and I will be on vacation in Scotland. Perhaps then I will turn it off.
Or maybe I’ll start now. Yeah. That’s it. I will mentally start my vacation today.
There. No longer thinking about any of that. I’ll wrap up this blog and start packing…
Bill Farquharson can be reached at…
But Matt Noonan, if you are reading this, you really need to check out that skiing event. Sounds like a ton of signage and a great way to make contact with the sponsoring companies.
UUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
